Mark founded Island Irrigation in 1986 and continues to operate it full time. Concurrently, he also founded Ackcess Homes with a partner, building more than 12 residential homes on Nantucket Island from 1992-1998.

He holds an A.S. degree in Landscape Development from SUNY at Alfred, NY, along with a CID and CIC from the Irrigation Association in Alexandria, VA.

Mark trains and competes in triathlons in his spare time and finished in the top third at the Escape From Alcatraz Triathlon in 2006.

Mark is the son of Free To Choose Network’s Founder Bob Chitester. He and his wife, Sherry, have been married for over 35 years and have four children. They live in Nantucket, MA.
