Director of Development
Jane Horetsky is the director of development, helping to maintain and grow funding for various projects and initiatives for Free To Choose Media and izzit.org. She brings education, marketing, and organizational experience to the position, as well as a passion for writing and community philanthropy.
Her commitment to raising funds for past projects included leaping off tall buildings, twice, for “Over the Edge”—an international charitable giving, rappelling initiative — while raising thousands of dollars and rallying her community to benefit those facing the opioid epidemic.
Prior to joining Free To Choose Network, Horetsky served as a communications strategist at Penn State University, managing two department websites, social media, press releases, special events marketing, photography, and recruitment materials. While there, she also taught professional development for the Staff Advisory Committee.
Horetsky was also the director of volunteer management for Girl Scouts Western Pennsylvania, overseeing a five-member team and more than 7,000 volunteers who work directly with more than 35,000 girls. Two major projects Horetsky undertook during her tenure included the 100th Anniversary of Girl Scouts and the Girl Scouts Awards of Distinction.
While working with Gannon University as a marketing consultant, Horetsky created and developed, with GU colleagues, the Women In Leadership Development conference. The professional development conference included networking, national speakers, and entrepreneurial table displays that showcase and empower women of all faces.
Horetsky has two daughters, Becca and Emma, attending college, and two Siamese cats, Macy and Chloe. She lives in Erie, Pennsylvania.
