We Hold These Truths − ABOUT THE FILM
Judge Douglas H. Ginsburg
Judge Douglas H. Ginsburg, Host
Judge Douglas H. Ginsburg was appointed to the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia in 1986. He served as Chief Judge from 2001 to 2008.
After receiving his B.S. from Cornell University in 1970 and his J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School in 1973, he clerked for Justice Thurgood Marshall on the United States Supreme Court. He was a full professor at the Harvard Law School, and Assistant Attorney General for the U.S. Department of Justice's Antitrust Division. He has taught law at the University of Chicago, New York University, Columbia University, and the University of London. He is currently a Professor of Law at the Antonin Scalia Law School, George Mason University.
In 2020, Judge Ginsburg hosted A More or Less Perfect Union, a three-part PBS series exploring the American Constitution — the foundational document that governs those who govern us. Subsequently, he created CivicsFundamentals.org, an educational course based on the 100 questions for the U.S. civics test for naturalization.
In 2022, Judge Ginsburg was awarded the Freedom of the City of London for advancing the rule of law.
